I am trying to convert a SWMM RUNOFF file from 4.4 to 5.0 but it keeps giving me an error on ALL of the H1 cards. Not sure what the problem is. The file runs fine in 4.4h

Hi Dan,

If you use the newer converter you get this SWMM5 data set., There seems to be something wrong with the rainfall data - which I will look at for you.

Here is the file I just converted:

Robert,

Thanks for your help.

I noticed that the rainfall series were numbered from 2 to 19 instead of 1 t o18, not sure if this is a symptom of the problem. Where can I find the newer converter?

Dan

Robert,

I was able to debug by looking at another SWMM 5 file I had from another project. I have one question. The converter seems to have created a 'Calibration' section of the SWMM 5 input file that is not recognized by SWMM 5 when I try to open it. If I comment out that section it works fine. Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Dan

Yes that is an Extran file:

SW 1 0 0
MM 3 20 21 22
$EXTRAN

Add the same SW and MM lines and then you should be able to convert the runoff and extran files together.

You cannot use a space in a directory name. I was able to convert it by putting the two files on the C drive and running the translation program:

Here is the SWMM 5 input file that was created.

Thanks again, I knew it would be something silly like that. You saved me lots of time here.

I am trying to repeat your bit of magic here and can't. I took the spaces out of the filename and put the files on the C drive and I get the same error.
